Bridging the Gap Between Graduation and Employment

The roll out of ICD-10 exacerbated already common issues for hospitals and healthcare providers to find well-educated, trained and experienced coders. On the other hand, new graduates of HIM programs struggle to find gainful employment due to lack of experience.

With our core values in mind, MedPartners launched MedPartners Solutions (MPS) to empower graduates to Have the Courage to Excel and to Make a Contribution in their field.  Supported by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the U.S. Department of Labor, MPS gives graduates of accredited CAHIIM programs (RHIA, RHIT, and Coding Certificate) hands-on ICD-10 training, and an opportunity to advance into an apprentice program, leading to employment. The training focuses on Inpatient and Outpatient coding conducted in two phases, intense ICD-10 CM/PCS classroom curriculum and immersion training within a health information management department.

This new breed of emerging coders trained by MPS, offer a refreshing outlook on the field of HIM. The apprentices hired into MPS are meeting the quality and productivity metrics of our client partners with ramp up timeframes similar to our legacy coders.
