MedPartners University (MPU) Graduates Second Group of ICD-10 Training Students
October 8, 2015
Tampa, FL – MedPartners University (MPU) is proud to announce that our second group of students, a class of 120, has completed our proprietary ICD-10 training course. The students came to us from CAHIIM accredited schools and completed our 8-week coding course developed by MPU. A select group of the highest performing graduates will move into an ICD-10 Apprenticeship as MedPartners employees. Partnering with a Level 1 -Trauma teaching facility to enhance their experience and learning, these apprentices will code for an additional 4-6 weeks in a practice setting with real ICD-10 charts and a 100% review and audit of their work. MedPartners is proud to be partners with AHIMA and the coding community in providing newly trained and dedicated coding professionals to the healthcare landscape.
“All of us here at MedPartners are proud of the hard-work our graduating class has put in and the commitment they have made to continued professional development during this transition time for the healthcare community. Our goal in implementing the MedPartners University (MPU) programs was to give our employees the skills they need to be successful in their field, while delivering top quality graduates to the workforce. Unlike other organizations who ask new graduates to sign their futures away, MedPartners believes in a symbiotic relationship between employer and employee. Like our clients, our consultants and employees truly are our partners, and good partnerships require good relationships. We do not believe good relationships start with asking someone to face huge financial penalties if they decide to take a different path within a specified time frame. We feel that what we offer through employment with MedPartners stands alone and is sufficient for retention without placing them in handcuffs.” Co-CEO and CCO, Marci Wilhelm said.
